Oh Foggy Day

Today as I was driving to work there was a thick fog that covered majority  of the highway. I couldn't help but think that the fog was there as an obstacle and and a reminder that life is unapologetically unpredictable and so many things are out of our control and direct line of vision.  And it's so easy to stay focused on the past and find yourself being stagnant out of  fear of  making a change.

But in order to fully grow we have to be fully present  and fully committed to taking tangible steps of making a positive change in our life.
Being present means not focusing on the past and letting guilt and regret and even
shame keep you from reaching your full potential.  In order to experience those negative feelings you have to look to the past but by being present you are forced to see your current situation as an opportunity. Additionally by taking tangible steps that are creating positive changes in your life you are reaffirming to yourself that you are moving forward and letting go of the past.
We must take into account that although things may seem foggy up close but by taking a step back and looking over the horizon there are endless possibilities for us to be successful! Don't be afraid to take that first step!

2.1 Mile Run with cold ears!

Today I was able to run when there was some type of daylight because it was my day off! But I forgot one key accessory,  a hat or earmuffs! After completing my first mile my ears were so cold I had contemplated giving up and just letting the cold overtake me and I fall into thr abyss of cold to never br seen again. I kid but it was sooo cold. The path I was running made it difficult to turn back and run to my car for warmth.  This made me push through and complete the task no matter the obstacles.  But next time I will definitely not forget those oh so important earmuffs though.

Also I am going to start listing my playlist and top songs from my runs! I think it can inspire others!  Also follow me on Spotify. I've been making some inspiring playlists that reflect my journey through life.I believe music can definitely soothe your soul when you're down and also lift you up when you need a pick me up.
Stevie Wonder said it best, Music is a world within itself with a language we all understand!

Top 6 Songs on Playlist for Today's Run
1. Gotta Have It by Kanye West & Jay Z
2. Here Alessia Cara
3. Right Thru Me by Nicki Minaj
4. Moment 4 Life by Nicki Minaj
5.Show Me a Good Time by Drake

Half Marathon Completed by August 2016

History:I've been a runner for years. I remember being so excited about track and field day in elementary school because I loved to run and was pretty "fast"! I took pride in my abilities to run and was apart of my young identity.

As I grow older I have started to run again. At first it was to stay in shape and now it just feels so good to run! Knocking out miles and miles and feeling so strong and invincible!  Regardless of how bad my day is I know I know once I put on my running shoes it will be okay!

My goal for the new year is to complete a half marathon by the end of the August. This month I plan on running a 5K.  We will see how it goes!
