Wedding Wednesday Part 3

Hey yall today on the blog I am spilling the tea on my wedding planning so far!
This past couple of weeks have been by far so stressful but one of the best methods to stay on track has been doing this wedding series. It has enabled me to share with you the journey of wedding planning and giving you a peak into the whole wedding planning venture.

So this week I had unexpected left turn in negotiations of the wedding dress of my dreams.
I actually used a wedding dress app to create a dress that worked with my body shape and a mix of Pinterest photos to inspire the dream dress.

As this is my second time around with my sweetheart Michael I wanted to do a different style than last time and so using inspiration from these sources helped me hone in on the vision. So you can imagine my disbelief when the negotiations feel out on this dress. I have been using the website as there are high end luxury pre-owned and gently used dresses on the site. So this has definitely been a blessing and a curse.

To look at it in a positive way the cost of the dress was a bit of a stretch as we had decided on a budget for the entire event and with lots of creativity and strict adherence we can make it.... only if I am dedicated to the cause. So with shock and relief I have decided to let that dress go as I am not willing to negotiate more for the dress( Also when purchasing a used/gently owned dress you have to keep in mind the additional costs that go into purchasing(Alterations($100+) Shipping & Dry Cleaning if its used). These small costs all add up and can definitely effect the overall cost of the dress.

So I had to go back to the drawing board basically and re-review the wedding dress style I like and I only have about 30 days til the ceremony! So wish me luck! I am seriously so excited to see how everything works out with the final dress decision. After re-reviewing the style I like I couldn't help but show yall my main dress muse!

The dress below is my DREAM DRESS from the famous and sooo classy dress designer Oscar de la Renta( Style 92e25) .

The dress has this gorgeous and elegant and playful skirt style that transcends time!! Yess I am obessessed lol. The first time I saw this elegant design was in 2010 & even 8 years later it still inspires my wedding style!

Next thing on my list is the Cake!! The Cake Vendor I had planned on using has a family reunion the weekend of the wedding so that definitely was not good news to hear. So now we are currently looking for a local bakery for our "PARTY CAKE". I want the cake to have like a gold foil layer incorporated or more of a naked cake look to! Like the examples below:

Naked Cake Look With Gold Foil!

* Tip once you say the word WEDDING they will charge you another $100 minimum to do the SAME cake!! So if you are being budget conscious make sure you keep that in mind*

Also one of the biggest things has been to solidly book a photographer for the event. As I wasn't sure of the total amount of time needed for my wedding & vow renewal. We were looking at about 2-3 hour time to have photos for the ceremony and the reception(Cake Cutting & First Dance). Last time we had a hard time with the photographer as she booked it out of the ceremony way too fast and I don't even know where those pictures went! So this time I am seriously so focused on finding the RIGHT and PROFESSIONAL photographer yall!! Its the little things and the photographer is sooo key!!

*So my key lessons this past week has been to be flexible in regards to the vision and to also stay vigilant with research on cutting costs and very open with my vendors in regards to what I want and if its possible to achieve it!*
This week has been eye opening as thigns dont always go as planned and there are still so many things left on the to-do list!

Thank yall for going on this journey with me! Also soon  Ill be going over my budget friendly wedding ideas and planning for all of the budget friendly vibes out there! This will help anyone who has questions about how I plan on executing my dream wedding for under $5000! I am sooooo excited for yall to check it all out!!! Its a long post next week so make sure your bring the popcorn and wine and enjoy!!

Til next time,

Peace & Love,

Wedding Wednesday Pt dos

Today on the blog sharing my Wedding Wednesday Part 2.
Today deals with INSPIRATION!!

Where and how and what I was inspired about for my Wedding! Basically the overall theme of the wedding.
I personally have found inspiration from magazines and Pinterest and even movies! The theme is soo important for the overall aesthetic of the wedding. I personally wasn't sure of what kind of theme works for me and Michaels very exciting and very unexpected love story! Happily Ever After.. Take 2!!! We are actually getting married for the second time. We originally were married in May 2013 which feels like ages ago and we have really grown and matured since then really all for the better!

As everyone’s love story is unique to them, it can be hard to come up with a theme that’s uniquely yours. I personally was at a standstill as I didn’t want to have a similar a wedding as before as I want this wedding to stand the test of time and be so uniquely us!
So our theme is based on a happily ever after theme mixed with a garden party theme!

The photos below are a great peek into some of my favorite styles!!
Also, this is not sponsored as a key way to plan the theme was with the help of The Knot’s Weddings Planning App & Pinterest!

For all a great look inside my, Pinterest click here!
Thank y’all so much for stopping by and checking out my post on planning my wedding!

#WeddingWednesday Part 1

Hey yall, I'm sharing my journey to the altar and tips and tricks you can learn to save money on the wedding and an overall journal style journey of my wedding prep!
So glad you are here to check out my whole wedding journey!

Week 1- Bodyshape Does Matter!!

(Concerning the photo above:This I repeat is not my dress for the big day but from the modeling shoot I wore earlier this year! Just want to repeat that as I'm a wee bit superstitious! Just so yall know!!)

This week has been soo crazy! I had the biggest and hardest realization this week as I have went wedding dress shopping! And quite unexpectedly the dress I have been pining over and quite literally pinning all over Pinterest lol does not fit me & my body type!

I was lucky enough to model with Balacia Bridal custom dresses this year and see that the wedding dress that works for me was not be the dress that I originally envisioned.

I never thought I would be the one to add on a couple of love pounds and it's quite interesting to see how all of it has changed me and my views and really opened me up to accepting my whole self. I will discuss more about that later in a later post when I have the time to really go deep.

Anywho back to the dress shopping, so I had planned on buying a sheath dress as I want to go BoHo Chic for the wedding

but as I have an hourglass figure the sheath dress style did nothing for my figure as my lovely bridal consultant explained! Lol in honestly the nicest way and no doubt still to me completely unexpected way!

So what do I do with this new information?!

First- Pick up my jaw off of the ground &(Its okay if you cry or grieve over the lost dress and vision you had of YOU wearing THAT dress! Do whatever feels right to get over the disappointment)
Second, I go back to the drawing board(ie.Pinterest) and see if I can re-vamp and change up that illusive Perfect Dress I have envisioned!!
Lastly- Get to work with researching and finding a dress that matches and highlights my current body shape. Mermaid/Trumpet Dresses as well as A-Line/Ballgowns are a great fit for my body shape.
As I don't want to do a big formal occasion I decided to steer clear of the big ballgown look of a dress so that left me with the other option!

And boy oh boy did I find that dress!! I looked through Pinterest and have included below as a guide an infographic that shows which dress style will highlight your body type.

This image is from Pinterest! All rights belong to the original Pinterest owner.

So after realizing that my butt was way too big for the dream dress I was able to see that its OKAY!! And that the perfect dress for me is not necessarily the ideal dress that I expect but one that fits!!

So I encourage brides to stay open minded on the dress journey and not get offended or hurt if a certain dress doesn't work! Keep on pushing and believing that YOU are beautiful just the way you are.

Be sure to come back next week for the second Part of my Wedding Series as I race down the aisle to marry the man of my dreams!

Til next time,

Peace & Love,
Karen Beatty 💕💕

#EnamoredWith Candy Bling Marc Jacobs Review # Complimentary

Hey y'all! I'm sharing my experience with trying out the new Enamored Lipgloss by Marc Jacobs! I was gifted from Marc Jacobs and Influenster to try it out and see how I like it & I would have to say I personally love the color & shine of it all!!

Who says you can't be #Enamoredwith Candy Bling? I literally have worn this lipglosss every single day! This #marcjacobs lipgloss has made my makeup routine much quicker since it already is the color that I wear! Let me say that even though it was #complimentary I will definitely keep this in my #makeupbag for years to come!!

I personally love dark and lighter pink shades and this is the perfect combo!

The gloss is super glossy just a FYI as it definitely surprised me how glossy it was!  I mainly prep my lips before with Burt's Bees so I don't need very much of the gloss! A small bit goes a long way!

Overall I would rate it a A-

Hope y'all keep this in mind as there a wide array of colors available and it's definitely worth a second look!!

💎Midweek Motivation💎

Today on the blog I am sharing 5 of my favorite affirmations for success!!

1. I am healthy and I am safe and I am able to achieve my wildest dreams.

2. I am worthy of a BIG and marvelous life full of abundance and success.

*There is sooo much power in believing that you are WORTHY of a big life! I have seen that in order for me to actively and to consciously manifest things in my life I have to let go of any subconscious blocks.
3. I am destined to be a light bright enough to help at least one person a day!

4. Today is going to be a great day filled with optimism and growth and if I encounter something I can't change then I will gracefully release and intentionally keep on grinding.

5. I am open to receiving gifts and opportunities in unexpected ways.

The key to affirmations is to believe them! They can help you change your mindset and overall thoughts. Once you change your mind then you change your life!!

I actually signed up for the Manifestation Babe Challenge and I will be doing a post over my reaction and thoughts on this amazing challenge! So y'all stay tuned as I'm excited to share my results with y'all!

Til next time,

Peace & Love,
Karen Beatty💕💕
